Every year, around 3,000 dogs are rescued and re-homed by The Jerry Green Foundation Trust. We try hard to match the right dog with the right owner - and we have proved that there is a place for just about every dog.

Sadly, the number of dogs arriving at our sanctuaries is increasing. Some come from broken homes, some from elderly owners. Some were an unsuitable choice and did not fit in with their owners' lifestyle. And some are just poor strays who, through no fault of their own, end up roaming the streets.

Here at the Jay Gee Sanctuary Halesworth, and at the six other similar sanctuaries, we provide a haven for hundreds of unwanted pets. All the kenels are heated with spacious individual runs. Tim and Debbie Adams are managers here at Halesworth, and they ensure that the dogs have 24 hour supervision.

All this was made possible by a business man called Jerry Green. His own golden cocker spaniel, Rusty, had been such a faithful and loving companion that Jerry Green was inspired to set up a sanctuary for stray animals with a generous endowment. On his sad death in 1968, a substantial legacy ensured the continuation of The Jerry Green Foundation Trust.
